Two friends of mine, Sarah and Marisa introduced me to Korean music just as I was flying to Thailand. While on the airplane, I had many, many hours available to be able to listen to this genere of music. And I must say, I became pretty hooked to it ever since then. I have no clue to as what they are saying, but the vocals and instruments are beautiful. I hope to one day to visit South Korea, but it is whatever is in the mind of God’s and not of my own.
This video is from a Korean band titled, 2AM, there music is much softer, it is very beautiful, hope you all enjoy!
In 11 days from now, I and 10 others will begin our journey to go the whole way across the globe to a beautiful country, with beautiful people.
Thailand is made up of around 67 million people. 94.6% of them are Buddhist, 4.6% of them are Muslim, 0.7% of them are Christian, and then there are 0.1% of which are other. This country is in need of a loving Savior. Over our span of about twelve days we will be working with college students in a nearby University, having a prayer walk around a city, going to an orphanage, working women ministry and as well as going to nearby village.
English: A big festival, where thousands of Khom Fai (sky lanterns) are floated in to the air during a Buddhist ceremony, is held a few days ahead of the actual Loy Krathong/Yi Peng festival in San Sai district near Maejo University, some 20 km north of Chiang Mai, Thailand. Apparently, this festival will be held on a smaller scale on the 24th of October, 2009, again in San Sai municipality. (Photo credit: Wikipedia)
I am very thrilled to see how God is going to work in not only myself but with my team. We all have been figuring out our different gifts and talents God has given to us. Some of us are on the very extroverted side and then there are some of us in which are on the other end of the scale begin introverted and then there are those we are about half and half. I am very thankful for each and everyone who is on this Journey Team. Although we all have our differences, we end up being a team filled with joy and laughter. I have never been apart of a group that honestly just clicked from the very start. I honestly believe that God placed us all together for a purpose, something greater than we may every know but I have a feeling that this trip is going to change us all in amazing ways.
May we finish our high school and our college semesters strong and continue preparing our hearts for a journey of a lifetime. As the founder of World Vision, Bob Pierce once prayed, “God break my heart for what breaks Yours.” May our hearts be broken and may You shine a light onto those who need it. Please continue to pray for us while we prepare our hearts for traveling the whole way across the globe to a beautiful country with beautiful people.
In the book, One Thousands Gifts by: Ann Voskamp she would set a side the business of her life and start writing down the many blessings God has given to her. I have only read about half of her book, and plan on finishing it very soon. But, it got me thinking, and I want to start a list just like she did, I want to start naming the little things of which are a blessing to me in my wonderful messy beautiful life. I want to also encourage you to do this as well, start making a list of anything that you are thankful for. Ann’s list started as:
- Morning shadows across old floors
- Jam piled high on toast
- Cry of a blue jay high in the spruce
Every day, I am going to make it my mission and I will write down something in which I was thankful for on that day. I am thrilled to start realizing the many blessings God has given me. So, join me in this awesome journey of noticing the thousands upon thousands of blessings we receive each and every day.
Blessing (Noun): the act or words of one that blesses.
